Tanglewood Park
Cross Country Invitational

On the NCHSAA state meet course.
(There has been a course change this year.)
Directions:
Take I-40 to the Tanglewood exit (# 182) Follow signs to the park. Enter at the main
gate.
Entry fee:
Entry fee is for each boys and or girls team.
$60.00 per boys or girls team POSTMARKED by October 4th.
$65.00 per team for all entries Postmarked after October 4th and those paying
day of the meet.
Teams will not be able to pick up race packet until payment in full is received.
Individuals are $10 each and should contact
Coach Cromwell via email with their name,
grade, best 5k time,
and race preference.
The team fee covers one varsity race (Your Top 7 runners) and up to 33
junior varsity participants.

Awards:
(Again, the most unique around) Top 15 individuals and top 3 teams in each
varsity division.
Top 10 individuals and top 2 teams in the junior varsity
races.
Awards will be given out immediately following each race this year as
soon as results are available.
Parking:
Buses will park in the assigned area only just past gate house. (no charge for official school
buses).
There will be a $6.00
parking fee for all other vehicles. This fee goes to Tanglewood
Park.
If your athletes ride the bus
they get in free.
If they are riding in a private vehicle, the vehicle will have
to pay $6.
Team Area:
There will be a designated area with plenty of room for Team Tents.
It will be directly in front of where your buses will be directed to park.
Short Walk! Rest rooms will also be located in this area, and by the
start/finish area. The Team Tent area is located on the north
end of the Horse Track, or by the loop in the field on the X-C Course.
No admission charge
for spectators.
T-shirts
and concessions will be sold.
Coaches Hospitality Tent: Free Coffee
& other snacks.

Entry Information
This year we will be using
Direct Athletics to handle entries for the
Tanglewood Cross Country Festival Please go to
www.directathletics.com to
enter your team for the meet. As meet director my goal is to have
competitive races all day long. Do your best to be honest about your teams'
strength and request the appropriate race. As host for the day I
will conference with other area coaches and reserve the right to move teams up and/or down a division to ensure quality competition. Entries and
your designated race will be posted via this website no later than Tuesday, October 7th
to let you know which race you are in. Don't worry... there will be talented
individuals and teams in every race! The "Championship
Race" is for the 4A or large schools and a few top tier teams from other divisions. The "Invitational Race" Is primarily for the 3A schools
and 1A or 2A schools looking to move up, and the "Open Race" is
reserved for 1A/2A public schools and private schools only. You must run
your Top 7 in one of the "Varsity" races. The rest of your team will
be automatically placed in the JV race. Mount Tabor High School looks forward to being your host for another day of
exciting Cross Country races on the
North Carolina State Championship course.
1- If you are not familiar with Direct
Athletics you have to enter your roster first.
There is a detailed
instruction page linked on the left side of this page for you to print off.
2- Make sure you create separate rosters for Men and Women.

Please pick just one race to enter.

Enter
all of your athletes for that race.
You can designate who runs Varsity on race day. Every entry will
have a race number assigned to them which you will receive in your race day
packet.
Everybody else on
your roster will be automatically entered in the JV race.
5- Please enter only athletes that will run that day.
You can
update your roster/entries until 5pm Sunday, October 5th. Thank
You!
This saves time and resources.
6- Please register via Direct Athletics by 5pm Sunday, October
5th.
If you register on Direct Athletics but your team does not attend, you will
still be expected to
pay the meet entry fee.
This will ensure your team a spot in one
of the premier Cross Country races this season.
Payment for each boys and girls team is as follows.
Early bird special: $50 per team
Postmarked by Sep 1st.
Entry fee is for each boys and or girls team.
